Notice

Please be advised that Business Against Crime South Africa (BACSA) is now a division within BLSA.

The primary driver of the integration of BLSA and BACSA is that BACSA’s strategy is aimed at implementing one of BLSA’s strategy focus areas namely, combatting crime and corruption.

In achieving the objective of combatting crime and corruption, BACSA’s focus has been to –

  1. identify (jointly, with Business and Government) tangible initiatives that will deliver a measurable, and sustainable output in support of the efficient and effective functioning of the criminal justice system;
  2. provide the necessary support to Business to ensure that the environment in which it operates becomes safer and more secure; and
  3. provide a platform for business to constructively engage with Government on issues relating to crime and investor concerns.

The abovementioned integration creates a new vehicle that allows, BLSA to realise this focus area of “combatting crime and corruption”. The objectives of this focus area include –

  1. defending the Constitution through advocacy and supporting institutions that seeks to combat crime and corruption;
  2. supporting state capacity by combatting crime and corruption through the promotion of sound leadership and a process of holding the state to account (BACSA strategy); and
  3. implementing an ethics compact to ensure that Business “walks the talk”
